The Aurora Suns defeated the Traverse City Bears, 6-2. First Baseman Joe Handler deserved a large share of the credit. Handler was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Suns. Josh Maughan closed out the game, earning his 12th save. The second-place Suns lifted their record to 78-58.
In the top of the fifth, Aurora left fielder Josh McIsaac had a run-producing at-bat. Facing Traverse City hurler Mike Banks, McIsaac drew a walk, driving in 1 run. That made the score 3-1, Aurora. For the day, McIsaac went 1 for 4 with a walk.
Handler attributed the win to "an all-around good team performance."
