Zach Amos was instrumental in his team's 7-3 triumph over the Riverside Rotters. The left fielder went 2-4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Libertyville Polecats. The winner was Libertyville reliever John Turner, now 8-7. The loser was Tom Krasner. Harley Towle recorded the save, his 2nd.

Early in the game, Amos had a 2-run home run for Libertyville. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Polecats on top, 2-1.

"In this profession, you've got to put the good and the bad behind you quickly," Riverside skipper Hermenegildo Fernando said.

The third-place Polecats improved to 69-65.
