Winchester Mountaineers starter Jared Trombley pitched his team past the Alcoa Millionaires, 6-2. Steve Gryder earned save number 13 this season. The Mountaineers now own a record of 94-35.
The Mountaineers got an important contribution from second baseman Jason Lewis, who in the bottom of the third hit a 2-1 fastball to right for a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Mountaineers ahead, 5-1.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Lewis. "It sure beats the alternative."
