Libertyville starter Andy Devane put a stranglehold on the Mesa offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Polecats to a 2-0 win. In 7 innings, Devane surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Brian White, who is tied for 2nd in the E-AA in saves with 18, earned the save for Libertyville.

Libertyville took a 2-0 lead on Joe Greer's 11th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Greer hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Mesa pitcher Josh Buxton visibly frustrated.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Greer.

The loss makes Mesa 72-58.
