In a low-scoring contest between the Riverside Rotters and the Aurora Suns, Jose Betancourt, who is tied for 10th in the E-AA in wins with 9, proved to be the difference. The Riverside left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-0 Rotters win. In 7 innings, Betancourt surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Abel Viar earned the save for Riverside, his 24th of the year.

Mike Sargent came through for Riverside when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a two-strike sinker to right field, staking his team to a 1-0 lead.

"Bad luck's the only luck we've had," said Aurora manager Oscar Figeroa.

The Suns have now dropped 10 straight.
