Mountaineers Rally to Eke Out Win
The Winchester Mountaineers outlasted the Traverse City Bears in an extra-inning thriller.

The Winchester Mountaineers overcame a good performance by Traverse City designated hitter Richard Childs to knock off Traverse City, 6-5, in 10 innings at Mountaineers Park. Childs was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Winchester has now won 7 in a row.

Winchester got a clutch hit from Jerry Guerrero. The pinch hitter launched a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.

"There's no victory at bargain basement prices," Guerrero told a reporter after the game.
