Osburn, Mountaineers Serve Up 8-1 Win
|
The first-place Winchester Mountaineers picked up another win.
With center fielder Gabe Osburn leading the charge, the Winchester Mountaineers defeated the Traverse City Bears, 8-1, at Mountaineers Park. Osburn, who is tied for 5th in the E-AA in bases on balls with 69, was 3 for 3 with a triple, 2 doubles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The Eastern AA Southen Division-leading Mountaineers are 89-34.
Osburn had a key at-bat for Winchester in the bottom of the second. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 2-run double. It was his 17th double of the season and gave Winchester an early 2-0 lead.
"We've got a great group of guys," Osburn said, "and we're having fun right now."
