Corpus Christi beat Washington at Red Barons Ballpark, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to first baseman Jon Dearman. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Corpus Christi starter Erik Ashley was credited with the win after throwing 103 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 12-9. The Mermen are now 66-58, while the Wildthings fall to 27-97.

Corpus Christi needed the clutch hitting of Dustin Harter to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mermen on top, 6-4. For the game, Harter had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
