The Boise Dread Kings clobbered the Fresno Running Rebels, 12-3, at Running Rebels Ballpark. Boise left fielder Steve Fites led the onslaught. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Steve Wright snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-2 on the season. Marvin Henderson suffered the loss. The Dread Kings win now puts them at 63-61.

Boise used a timely hit from Soini Huhtinen to get the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dread Kings ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

Fresno manager Hunter Santiago said: "We got ambushed. We just sashayed into the canyon and they were firing from both sides."
