Mesa starter Eric Zane pitched well against the Traverse City Bears at Greensboro Grounds. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-4. By defeating Traverse City, the 4th-place Razor Sharks improved to 69-53.

John Richins dealt the Bears a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Mesa leading 4-3, Richins, who is tied for 3rd in the E-AA in stolen bases with 23, hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single.

"Both teams played hard," said Mesa manager Danny Schexnayder.
