Aurora shortstop Jose Casas had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Casas went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2, even as Rohnert Park beat the Suns, 5-4. Kyle Yearwood earned the win for Rohnert Park. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 9-8. The last-place Cougars hiked their record to 54-65.
Rohnert Park used a clutch at-bat from Ron Davis to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cougars ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Davis. "You've got to get results."
