Slumping Wildthings Lose 10th Straight
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Alcoa Millionaires and the Washington Wildthings, Ryan Louviere, who is tied for 3rd in the E-AA in innings pitched with 139.1, was the difference-maker. The Alcoa left-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. Adam Pollard, now 2-1, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. The losses continue to mount for Washington, which has now dropped 10 in a row.
Steve Kettle provided a timely hit. The Alcoa left fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Millionaires on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Louviere.
