Razor Sharks Overwhelm Wildthings, 15-4
|
Mark Stella, who is tied for 7th in the E-AA in runs scored with 79, led Mesa to a triumph over Washington. The final score was 15-4. The center fielder went 3 for 5, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He scored 2 runs and added 7 RBI. Daniel Yanez, now 1-1, was credited with the win in 4.1 innings of relief. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 2. Washington's current losing streak has reached 7 games.
With Mesa leading 4-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Stella batted against Washington pitcher Chris Gibbons. Stella hit a fastball to left for a grand slam home run. His 11th home run of the season put the Razor Sharks on top, 8-1.
"Same old, same old, unfortunately," said losing manager Danny Sanchez.
