Behind an impressive start by Eric Zane, Mesa beat Riverside, 6-2. Mesa, at 61-44, occupies third place in the Eastern AA Southen Division.
The Razor Sharks got a big at-bat from first baseman Jeremy Wright. For the game, Wright was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Mesa a 2-0 lead.
"Eric -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Razor Sharks manager Danny Schexnayder. "He was the key to us winning."
