Eskimo Brothers Fall Short, 4-3, at Winchester
|
The Winchester Mountaineers knocked off the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers, 4-3, in Eastern AA action at Mountaineers Park. Winchester pitcher and Chicago, Illinois, native Frank Sarabia had an outstanding performance. The save was credited to Steve Gryder, his 9th. Winchester has a record of 75-27, placing them first in the Eastern AA Southen Division.
Winchester took a 4-3 lead on John Hall's 8th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Hall hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Encinitas pitcher Matthew Gayheart shaking his head.
Sarabia attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
