Libertyville Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction

Rotters first baseman Mike DeWitt put his stamp on his team's 8-5 win over the Libertyville Polecats. DeWitt went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Riverside in the contest. Riverside reliever Jim Autore picked up the win, upping his record to 8-2. Saul Guevara absorbed the loss. Abel Viar was credited with the save, his 17th in 20 tries.
Crandon, Wisconsin native Mike DeWitt had a clutch at-bat in the top of the seventh for the Rotters. With Riverside trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," DeWitt told the Riverside Chronicle. "But we take nothing for granted."
The third-place Polecats have lost 6 consecutive games.
