Drooping Millionaires Lose 6th Straight
The Fresno Running Rebels defeated the Alcoa Millionaires, 3-1, in Eastern AA action at Running Rebels Ballpark. Fresno pitcher Jason Stoute had a standout performance. Wade Vesperman came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 5-1. Heriberto Hernandez sewed up the save, his 2nd.

Eric Breene chipped in for Fresno, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the bottom of the eighth inning. For the game, the first baseman went 2-4 with a double.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Breene told the Fresno Bulletin.

Alcoa is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
