Dread Kings Snatch Late-Game, 3-2 Win
|
Starting pitcher Adam Matthews gave the Boise Dread Kings a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Libertyville Polecats, 3-2, at Ballpark of Boise. Boise reliever Jordan Gaines snagged the win, upping his record to 7-2. Gabe Thomas shouldered the loss. The Dread Kings saw their record improve to 30-27.
Boise got a game-changing hit from Soini Huhtinen. The catcher blasted a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a winner.
"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Matthews said.
