Wildthings Beat Mermen, 7-3, at Red Barons Ballpark
The Washington Wildthings trumped the Corpus Christi Mermen, 7-3, at Red Barons Ballpark. Washington left fielder David Lewis was terrific. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Alex Guzman snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit over 2.1 innings. He's now 1-9 on the season. Washington now sports a record of 13-46.

Lewis contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Washington in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Lewis took a changeup from Edgar Minero and stroked the home run to right. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Wildthings to leap in front, 2-1.
