The Mescalero Chiefs soundly defeated the Traverse City Bears, 11-3, at Greensboro Grounds. Eric Breene, who is tied for 10th in the E-AA in total bases with 96, let his bat do the talking. He went 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs for Mescalero. Mescalero pitcher Ted Kelly got the win, upping his record to 3-1. Jason Casale got the loss. The win elevated the Chiefs to 33-23.

Mescalero second baseman Nate Cobb contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 21st hit of the season and put the Chiefs ahead, 2-0.

In postgame remarks, Breene said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
