Echavarria Hits 2 home runs in Cougars Win
|
Rohnert Park designated hitter Miguel Echavarria was instrumental in helping the Cougars triumph, 4-2, over the Libertyville Polecats. Echavarria belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The save went to Chris Hinojosa, his 1st this season. Today's win puts Rohnert Park at 25-31, while Libertyville falls to 21-35.
Echavarria had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 3-1 fastball from Eric Volmar, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Cougars a 4-2 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Echavarria.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Echavarria after the game.
