Bears Slap 4-1 Loss on Libertyville
|
The Traverse City Bears beat the Libertyville Polecats by a score of 4-1. Traverse City right fielder Tim Baggett deserved the lion's share of the credit. Baggett was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Bears. Traverse City reliever Jeremy Adams was the winner. His record is now 3-2. Jim Unknown took the loss. Traverse City has won 4 straight, while Libertyville has lost 4 in a row.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Baggett hit a 2-run single off Jim Unknown. It propelled the Bears into the lead, 3-1.
In postgame comments to the Traverse City Citizen, Baggett said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
