The Rohnert Park Cougars locked up a win at Ballpark of Greenup, knocking off the Mesa Razor Sharks, 4-2. On the mound for Rohnert Park was left-hander Antonio Renteria. He played a major role in the triumph. Renteria, the winner, moves to 3-5. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks. Rohnert Park currently is in last place in the Eastern AA Southen Division at 21-31.
Mike Gohlke, who is tied for 2nd in the E-AA in RBI with 43, came through for Rohnert Park with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. The designated hitter went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 2 RBI.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Renteria told the Rohnert Park Daily News.
