The Fresno Running Rebels had to overcome a good performance from Aurora pitcher Mel Mercado to claim a 3-2 win at Running Rebels Ballpark. Mercado went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. The win went to Brad Kitts in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Mel Mercado took the loss. Joe Ackerman earned the save for Fresno, his 2nd of the year.

Fresno took advantage of an error in the bottom of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Justin Coker hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Running Rebels in front, 3-2.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Coker said.

At 25-27, the Running Rebels claim 5th place in the Eastern AA Southen Division.
