In a tight contest between the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers and the Mescalero Chiefs, Justin Watson was the determining factor. The Encinitas right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. Watson, now 5-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. With the win, Encinitas pushed its record to 31-12.
Ricky Cooper had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Encinitas. He came through with a run-scoring double to put Encinitas in front, 3-0.
After the game, Encinitas manager Logan Greening applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
