The Boise Dread Kings earned a win at Ballpark of Boise, knocking off the Traverse City Bears, 4-3. On the bump for Boise was right-hander Robert Velasquez. He had a starring role in the triumph. Reynaldo Beltran got credit for the save for Boise. It was his 9th of the year. Boise is in third place in the Eastern AA Southen Division with a record of 22-22.

Boise took a 4-3 lead on Steve Gottlieb's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Gottlieb hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Traverse City pitcher Jimmy Carr visibly frustrated.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Traverse City manager Zach Hildebrant.
