Winchester defeated Alcoa, 7-5, in large part due to 23-year old left fielder Ryan Burchett. Burchett drove in 4 runs. The first baseman had 1 double and 1 home run for the Mountaineers. Sean Stevens earned the save for Winchester, his 1st. The Mountaineers have now reeled off 6 straight wins.

Burchett had a key at-bat for Winchester in the top of the first. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and gave Winchester an early 3-0 lead.

"We've been playing some good baseball," Burchett told the Winchester Chronicle. "We're aggressive and focused on what we're going to do on the field and getting it done."
