Greensboro Grounds was the site for Eastern AA action featuring the Traverse City Bears and Rohnert Park Cougars.

The Rohnert Park Cougars picked up a win at Greensboro Grounds, knocking off the Traverse City Bears, 6-3. Starting pitcher Willie Krell was a big reason why. Jim Hudson earned save number 1 this season.

Rohnert Park used a well-timed hit by Ron Davis to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Cougars ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"Willie gave us everything he had," said Rohnert Park manager Michael Kelleher.

Traverse City now owns a losing streak of 5 games.
