Bears Dealt 3-2 Loss by Winchester
|
Omar Cons, who is tied for 3rd in the E-AA with a 1.60 ERA, had a strong outing for the Winchester Mountaineers against the Traverse City Bears at Mountaineers Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. Angelo Quezada earned the save, his 3rd. The Mountaineers, now 31-10, have won 4 in a row.
Josh Laster had a big 2-run home run for the Mountaineers in the bottom of the second inning. With Winchester leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Jon Gunter and swatted a home run to right. It was his 6th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mountaineers ahead, 3-0.
"We put together a nice win," Laster said.
