The Alcoa Millionaires beat the Rohnert Park Cougars, 5-3, at Ballpark of Greenup. Alcoa designated hitter Jim Unknown had the hot bat. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Danny Williams nailed down the save. At 17-23, the Millionaires find themselves in 4th place in the Eastern AA Northern Division.
Unknown had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 0-2 sinker from Gerardo Carrion, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Millionaires a 5-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Unknown.
"It's still just a game," said Unknown, "whether you win or lose."
