Mesa got a valiant performance from pitcher Jose Rivera, but it wasn't enough to beat the Fresno Running Rebels. Fresno won the game, 6-5. Rivera threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Marvin Henderson was credited with the save for Fresno, his 2nd of the season. At 18-21, the Running Rebels claim 5th place in the Eastern AA Southen Division.

Dustin Roachell, who is tied for 8th in the E-AA in doubles with 8, drew 2 walks for Fresno. In a tie game with no one out in the top of the eighth, Roachell came through with a run-scoring walk. It put the Running Rebels in front, 4-3.

After the game, Roachell refused to speak to a reporter for the Fresno Daily. "You've accused me of throwing teammates under the bus," he said. "So, excuse me if I decline to answer your questions."
