Phillips Helps Riverside Cruise to 10-3 Win
|
Due in large part to first baseman Bobby Phillips, the Riverside Rotters sunk the Washington Wildthings, 10-3. Phillips was 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Picking up the save was 20-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Lienhard. Riverside has 3 straight wins, Washington 3 straight losses.
The Rotters got a big boost from designated hitter Tim Wheeler who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Wildthings hurler Ryan Perkins. It was his 13th walk of the season and put Riverside on top, 1-0.
Said losing manager Danny Sanchez: "We just didn't get it done tonight."
