Down to Defeat Goes Washington, 6-3
|
The Riverside Rotters defeated the Washington Wildthings by the score of 6-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Juan Alcantara. Alcantara was 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks for the Rotters on the day. Picking up the save was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Abel Viar. With the win, the Rotters have a record of 25-14.
Alcantara had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from David Hunt, he banged a run-scoring double to left, giving the Rotters a 4-3 lead. It was the 4th double of the year for Alcantara.
"We've got a great group of guys," Alcantara said, "and we're having fun right now."
