Polecats 4-3 Losers to Encinitas
|
Thanks in large part to left fielder Dan Smith, the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers beat the Libertyville Polecats, 4-3. Smith was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. Antonio Jusino earned the save for Encinitas, his 6th. The first-place Eskimo Brothers are 23-13.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, second baseman Hugo Quiles delivered a key hit for the Eskimo Brothers. With Encinitas trailing 2-0, he ripped a 2-run home run.
After the game, Encinitas manager John McKearney applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
