Rotters Need Extra Frames to Get Past Polecats
The Riverside Rotters picked up a win at Field of the Polecats, knocking off the Libertyville Polecats, 7-5. On the mound for Riverside was left-hander Tyler Huewe. He played a key role in the triumph. Abel Viar, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. The Polecats, at 19-14, have lost 7 in a row.

Riverside needed the clutch hitting of Mike DeWitt to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Rotters on top, 7-5. For the game, DeWitt had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
