The Aurora Suns topped the Rohnert Park Cougars, 7-6, at Ballpark of Greenup. Aurora left fielder Brian Phillips was a spark plug for the offense. He was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The win went to Brandon Dix in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Jim Unknown took the loss. The save was credited to Gary Day, his 4th.
Phillips turned the game around in the top of the ninth. That's when the Aurora left fielder dialed up a grand slam home run. Just like that, Aurora's 6-3 deficit turned into a 7-6 lead.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Phillips said.
The defeat makes Rohnert Park 13-19.
