Mountaineers Win Streak Reaches 7
|
Winchester right-hander Jeremy Hewes pitched his team to victory over the Libertyville Polecats at Field of the Polecats. The final score was 3-1. Hewes got the win, improving to 3-2. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 5.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. With their winning streak at 7, the Mountaineers have raced to a strong start this season.
Winchester took the lead, 3-1, on Pete Kincaid's 6th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Libertyville pitcher Harley Towle in the top of the eighth.
