Wildthings Lose to Boise, 5-1
|
The home team was supported by a raucous crowd at Ballpark of Boise.
The Boise Dread Kings rode a solid performance from 26-year-old starting pitcher David Damian to a win, beating the Washington Wildthings, 5-1, at Ballpark of Boise. Damian, now 4-2, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The save went to Jamie Licht, number 4 for him.
Matt Kuperberg, who is tied for 8th in the E-AA in extra base hits with 12, took Washington hurler Felix Acosta deep in the bottom of the first. His 3-run home run put the Dread Kings on top, 3-0. In all, Kuperberg had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"David did a heck of a job," said Boise manager Sean Drummond.
With the loss, Washington sinks to 6-22.
