Wildthings Slip Past Boise, 4-3
|
The Boise Dread Kings got a sterling performance from pitcher Davey Swenson, but the Washington Wildthings still prevailed, 4-3. Swenson threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The Wildthings, with only their 6th win in 27 games, could be the worst team in the league.
Washington used a clutch hit from Roberto Vigueras to get the win. The shortstop drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Wildthings ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Vigueras attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
