Polecats Suffer 4-1 Setback
|
Pete Mead pitched a gem to lead Riverside to victory over the Libertyville Polecats, 4-1. Libertyville drops to 13-12.
Riverside used a big swing from Greg Mattox to get the win. The designated hitter walloped a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rotters up, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it changed the outcome.
"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said Mead.
