Mountaineers Snatch Late-Game, 4-3 Win
The Winchester Mountaineers did just enough to nip the Corpus Christi Mermen, 4-3, in 14 innings. Winchester pitcher Gilberto Cortez, in particular, had a standout performance. With the loss, Corpus Christi sinks to 16-9.

Winchester got a game-changing hit from Jason Lewis. The third baseman blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the 14th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a winner.

"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Mountaineers manager Mitchell Young.
