Mountaineers Edge Past Suns, 4-3

Mountaineers Park was host to some intense drama.
The Winchester Mountaineers did just enough to secure a victory over the Aurora Suns, 4-3, in 12 innings at Mountaineers Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Gilberto Cortez. Matt Hartman snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 3 innings. He's now 3-0 on the season.
The Mountaineers got a clutch hit from catcher Mike Fogg. In the bottom of the 12th, he hit a run-scoring single to left-center, to win the game for the Mountaineers.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Aurora manager Oscar Figeroa. "The effort was great."
Winchester, at 18-6, is off to a blistering start.
