Traverse City Falters Again, Loses, 5-4, to Mesa
Traverse City second baseman Tony Robinson had a good game, even if his team did not. The Bears dropped a 5-4 decision to Mesa at Razor Sharks Ballpark. Robinson went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. The win was credited to 22-year old right-handed pitcher Stuart Maness in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jon Gunter took the loss. Kennedy Heath earned the save for Mesa.

The Razor Sharks got a big hit from catcher Chris Caruso. In the bottom of the sixth, Caruso smacked a 3-run home run off Traverse City pitcher Jon Gunter. It was his 10th home run of the season. Suddenly, the Razor Sharks were ahead, 5-3.

In postgame comments to the Mesa Times, Caruso said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

To call the performance of the 5-21 Bears woeful so far is an understatement.
