Eskimo Brothers Upend Cougars, 7-2
|
The Encinitas Eskimo Brothers topped the Rohnert Park Cougars, 7-2, with second baseman Jason Blackmore playing a big role. Blackmore was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Eskimo Brothers in the win. Jim Mendoza, the winner, is now 3-0. He struck out 7 and walked 2 over 6.1 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 3 hits. The victory makes Encinitas 13-9, as the team seeks a return to the playoffs in 2023.
Mark Adams was 1 for 3 with 2 walks for Encinitas. The 23-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Oscar Zuniga. It was his 19th walk of the season.
