Loss Diminishes Fine Performance by Bourque
Fans watched the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers and the Rohnert Park Cougars fight to the finish.

The Encinitas Eskimo Brothers overcame a good performance by Rohnert Park left fielder Luke Bourque to knock off Rohnert Park, 9-8, at Ballpark of Greenup. Bourque was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. The loss lowers the Rohnert Park record to 10-11.

Encinitas left fielder Dan Smith contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 11th hit of the season and put the Eskimo Brothers ahead, 3-0.

"Both teams had plenty of clutch hits," said Smith. "It made for an exciting game."
