In a low-scoring tilt between the Boise Dread Kings and the Riverside Rotters, 24-year old right-handed pitcher Adam Matthews was the difference-maker. The Boise right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. The winner was Matthews. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Brent Gudim. Losses have been rare for the Rotters, who are now 16-6.

The Dread Kings got a big at-bat from third baseman Joel Thompson. For the game, Thompson went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Boise a 2-0 lead.

"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Matthews.
