Boise turned a good performance from starting pitcher Pat Higginbotham into a 3-2 triumph over the Mesa Razor Sharks at Ballpark of Boise. The win was credited to 19-year old right-handed pitcher Robert Velasquez in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Kennedy Heath took the loss. The win gives Boise a record of 10-8.

Had Jake Willison not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Willison hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Dread Kings.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Mesa manager Danny Schexnayder.
