Kosuke Sakai pitched a gem to lead Rohnert Park to victory over the Mesa Razor Sharks, 4-1. Sakai, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The win takes Rohnert Park to 10-10.

Rohnert Park used a clutch at-bat from Luke Bourque to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Cougars ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I thought we played a nice game," Sakai told the Rohnert Park Daily News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
