Wenzel drives in 3 runs as Rotters Squeeze Past Boise
The Riverside Rotters defeated the Boise Dread Kings, 7-6, in Eastern AA action at Rotters Ballpark. Gene Wenzel pulled his weight. The 12-year veteran went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Dan Woods earned the win, while 36-year old right-handed pitcher Mickey Ferrell took the loss for Boise. Mike Heustess got credit for the save for Riverside. It was his 2nd of the year.

Riverside grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Wenzel hit a 3-run home run off Mickey Ferrell. His 2nd home run of the season put the Rotters out in front, 7-4.

"Gene was ready to go. Big day for him," said Riverside manager Hermenegildo Fernando.

The win puts Riverside at 9-7.
