Bears Upend Wildthings, 5-3
|
Washington center fielder Jody Stack had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 5-3, to Traverse City at Red Barons Ballpark. Stack belted 2 home runs. Pat Potter was the winner. He's now 1-2. The loser was Jim Unknown. To call the performance of the 2023 Wildthings disappointing is an understatement.
Marcus Hoffman had a big 2-run home run for the Bears in the top of the first inning. With Traverse City leading 3-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Unknown and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Bears on top, 5-0.
"Use your eyes, make an adjustment, and be better," said losing manager Danny Sanchez. "We need some accountability all the way around. Everybody, top to bottom."
